Family Tree Therapy

Katie (She/Her) started her career in early childhood development and has since grown into her role as a Registered Social Worker, developing her passion for working with children, youth, and families. She is dedicated to expanding her clinical knowledge to provide high quality care to diverse family systems.

In her therapeutic work, Katie centers the voice of the child by recognizing their strengths and skills. She creates real-life opportunities for growth and learning through play and supports emotional awareness through education and creative expression. Katie uses a family-centered approach, which is rooted in an attachment lens and person-in-environment perspective. Katie focuses on modeling safe, secure relationships while working to repair and strengthen connections within the family system.

Child & Youth Therapy

At Family Tree Therapy, we offer child-centered therapy designed to support children and teens in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways. Using play, art, movement and connection, we meet young people exactly where they are. We specialize in children's social-emotional wellness.

Adult & Dyadic Therapy

While child therapy is our heart & our home base, our therapists also work with adults and couples. Families are made of many stories, and grown-ups deserve support, too.

Supervision & Training

Taylor Nelson, owner of Family Tree Therapy, is a Certified Play Therapist and offers supervision, training and workshops.
